Within the scope of the Alumni–Student Meetings organized by Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Engineering, a seminar titled “Acoustic Measurements and Modeling Studies in Industrial Facilities” was held on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at the faculty’s Pink Hall.
The event hosted Cihan Sidal, a graduate of our department and the Samsun Branch Manager of GLOBAL TECH Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Laboratory, Environmental Engineer (M.Sc.), as the guest speaker. During his presentation, Sidal provided information on acoustic measurement processes in industrial plants, identification of noise sources, modeling techniques, evaluation criteria within the legal framework, and real field applications.
Throughout the seminar, Sidal also shared insights from his career journey and professional experience, offering students valuable perspectives on real working conditions, laboratory operations, accreditation processes, reporting, and on-site implementation practices. This part of the program attracted significant interest, particularly from students preparing to enter the sector.The event continued with a Q&A session and participant evaluations.
At the end of the program, the Head of the Department of Environmental Engineering, Prof. Dr. Nurdan Gamze Turan, presented a sapling certificate to Cihan Sidal as a gesture symbolizing environmental awareness and commitment to sustainability. The event was stated to provide an important contribution to strengthening students’ sector-oriented perspectives, supporting alumni–student interaction, and enhancing professional awareness.
