The event titled “Circular Future: Zero Waste, Recycling, and Extended Producer Responsibility Approaches”, organized by the Department of Environmental Engineering and ÇEVSAM at Ondokuz Mayıs University, was held with strong participation.
The program took place on Wednesday, April 1, at the Engineering Faculty Conference Hall, featuring Halime Sezer, one of the executives of Environmental Management Services Inc., a subsidiary of the Environmental Agency, as the keynote speaker.
During the event, key topics such as the zero waste approach, deposit return systems, recycling practices, and extended producer responsibility were discussed in light of recent developments. Participants had the opportunity to gain comprehensive insights into sustainable waste management practices and the circular economy perspective, while the importance of collaboration between academia and practice was also emphasized.
The program contributed to increasing students’ awareness of these issues and enabled them to become more familiar with current approaches in the environmental field.
